Small and Large EVs Purification

EV purification is critical for isolating extracellular vesicles from complex biological fluids or cell culture media with high purity and integrity. Effective purification removes contaminants such as proteins, lipoproteins, and cell debris, ensuring that downstream analyses and applications accurately reflect EV properties. High-quality purification is essential for reliable functional studies, biomarker discovery, and the development of EV-based therapeutics, supporting reproducibility and translational potential.

 

We provide high-level expertise for purification of large (>150 nm) and small EVs (30-150 nm) from human or animal biofluids, cell conditioned media, plant extract, bacteria, or fungi. Our EV purification workflow includes:

 

- Scalable and automated EV purification from small volumes up to liters of material (from 100μL to 50L) using tangential flow filtration and size exclusion chromatography.

  • - Separation of small (40 - 150 nm) and large (>150 nm) EVs, if required.
  • - MISEV2023-compliant validation including size and concentration analysis by NTA (Zetaview, Particle Metrix), protein marker expression measurement by ELISA immunoassay, and total protein content quantification by BCA.
  • - Based on the request, EVs can be purified with alternative methods such as ultracentrifugation or immunoaffinity.
